My name is Andrea and I specialize in parts work. I support people as they heal from complex trauma and better understand how to work with their dissociative abilities. This might look like raising curiosity around how current stressors relate to the past, or how mood and body-related symptoms impact your ability to show up, or exploring thoughts and feelings related to the most tender and precious aspects of childhood.
I believe taking a parts-based approach offers some of the best tools to build safety, increase resourcing, and decrease habitual patterns of unwelcome thoughts and behaviors when addressing trauma related symptoms.
I am certified in several trauma informed modalities including Adaptive Internal Relational Model (AIR Network) and Trauma Informed Stabilization Therapy (TIST Model). I also offer Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and bring in somatic based approaches (via Linda Thai). These therapies are helpful to treat a number of concerns but were created specifically to address trauma.
Clients have described my style as compassionate, science-based, creative, warm and authentic. I am feminist in my approach and an ally to LGBTQIA+ Communities and People of Culture.
My style of therapy works well with people who skew introverted, who feel like they've tried other approaches and want to try something else, who feel misunderstood by others, who seek better ways to feel seen and heard -- by other people -- perhaps even by themselves.

The name Tanglefish comes from a doodle I used to draw when I was younger. It is a symbol that represents connection, artful expression, authenticity and generosity. The name honors an extension of these values as I meet with people seeking emotional healing in this practice.
